In this clinical role you will provide psychotherapy for children up to age six, primarily in their homes or community-based settings. Your clinical assessments include consideration of trauma, development, family systems and culture. In collaboration with the client’s caregiver(s), you will then create treatment plans, provide therapy, and provide ongoing case-management. We Care Services for Children is a 60-year-old nonprofit serving low-income and at-risk youth in central and eastern Contra Costa County. This is a full-time position with great benefits, paying $34-$37/hour, and up to $800/month in incentive pay.

We address the unique mental health, developmental, and educational needs of disadvantaged children up to age 6 through an array of programs and research-based therapies. Embedded in our programs are developmentally, linguistically, and culturally appropriate activities to provide each child with the best possible start to his or her life. Through targeted, compassionate, and effective early intervention services, We Care helps the most vulnerable children in our community reach their full potential, regardless of their abilities or circumstances.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Under general supervision of the Mental Health Director and Clinical Supervisor, the Therapist will:
- Provide therapy in the home, community and/or office as is clinically indicated and appropriate. Assess clients (up to age six) to determine diagnosis, treatment recommendations, and treatment constellation with clinical consultation as needed.
- Provide relationship-based therapy with client and caregiver(s). Conduct collateral sessions with significant support persons as needed.
- Provide case management, such as linking clients to community resources and/or coordinating services with other providers.
- Engage in reflective clinical supervision in support of the clinical work with clients. Participate in case consultations with other We Care treatment team members for all shared cases.
- Maintain treatment records and appropriate billing for services.
- Contribute to a working environment that fosters a sense of safety and community.
- Master’s Degree in: Social Work, Marriage Family and Child, Counseling or Clinical Psychology is required.
- Licensed or License Eligible MFT, LCSW, PhD or PsyD.
- Knowledge of child development, trauma and social service system.
- Must possess a valid California Driver's License and have reliable transportation and current auto insurance to travel to client homes (auto expenses are reimbursed at $0.75/mile).
- BBS eligibility required.
- Requires fingerprint clearance, including criminal background check, as well as passing a standard physical with TB clearance, and immunizations.
